Picking Up the Pieces, in New Ways 🌿✨
Well… we have a LOT to catch up on. ❤️
Life has been full lately—beautiful, messy, unexpected, and at times, incredibly hard. And if there’s one thing this season has taught me, it’s that Healing doesn’t always look the way you expect it to. Sometimes it looks like receiving help, adapting, letting go, and finding your way back to yourself.
So, let’s catch up.
This summer was one of the most magical summers I’ve experienced in a very long time.
I spent so much time with my boys. I connected with nature, slowed down, and found my way back to a softer side of myself.
I didn’t force workouts. I didn’t follow a diet. I didn’t create a million rules for myself.
I just lived.

I was on medication for a colitis flare, and as much as I hated having to take it, I have to be honest—it gave me some of my life back. Sometimes we need a little extra help getting through something. Sometimes healing doesn’t look the way we imagined it would.
But the medication wasn’t the only thing that helped me come back to myself.
I found my yoga mat again.
Not because I should be doing yoga. Not because I needed to burn calories or accomplish something.
I came back to it simply because I genuinely love it.
And something shifted.
I felt incredibly connected—to Source, to my highest self, to my spirit guides, and to the part of me that I think had been waiting patiently underneath all the noise.
I felt creative again.
I felt alive.
I finally launched The Enchanted Post, something I had been dreaming about for a long time. It has brought so much joy and magic to both me and the beautiful people who have ordered.

I even finally filmed a yoga class.
(And yes, I promise there will be more soon!)
Here is the link to try it out :
I had so much fun doing it.
For a little while, life felt spacious.
And then…
Mid-August and September hit us like a wrecking ball.
Our slow, easygoing summer came to an abrupt end, replaced by rigid schedules, school, work, competitive sports, practices, appointments, and seemingly every single moment of every day and weekend accounted for.
At the same time, I was coming off the steroids I had taken over the summer.
And holy fricken hell.
That was one rough ride.
My sleep was a mess. My immune system felt all over the place. My hormones felt completely out of whack. My body felt like it wasn’t entirely mine.
It was one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had.
And honestly, there were moments when I regretted taking the medication at all.
But looking back, I know I needed it.
Sometimes we need that extra hand to get through something we simply cannot get through on our own.
That story probably deserves a blog post of its own.
And then, just when I thought we had enough on our plates…
The worst happened.
My son Samuel suffered a serious football injury.
He dislocated his elbow with enough force to break bones and detach soft tissue. Suddenly, the things I had been worrying about—my schedule, my body, my exhaustion, my own struggles—felt very, very small.
I have a lot of medical trauma and PTSD, and hospitals have always been incredibly difficult for me.
I can become faint. I can feel physically sick. I can completely panic.
When Sam broke his wrist four years ago, I was a complete wreck.
But this time, somehow, I found a strength I didn’t know I had.
I became his rock.
I sat beside my boy through the hospital visits, the scans, the surgery, the waiting, the uncertainty.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I found my way back to Reiki.
It had been forever since I felt comfortable connecting with Reiki energy.
There was a period in my life when I needed to step away from it. I was receiving some very strong psychic messages from the spirits of clients I had worked with, and I wasn’t prepared for what was happening.
I needed a break.
That, too, is probably a story for another day and another blog post.
But sitting beside my son in that hospital room, something in me reopened. While Samuel was on the hospital bed, I allowed the healing energy of Reiki to flow like its never flowed before.
I am a fully certified Reiki Master, and I suddenly realized just how much this beautiful healing modality had been missing from my life.
And today, for the first time in what feels like forever, I feel complete enough to sit down and pour myself back into my writing, my creativity, and my Little Magic Life.
Samuel's surgery went well, and so far, his healing has been nothing short of incredible.
We won’t know exactly what the long-term outcome will be until his cast comes off at the end of October. We’ll have a better idea then of how everything is healing and what his range of motion and use will look like.
But we are hopeful.
And I have to tell you something I’ve been thinking about a lot.
Do I think Reiki helped Samuel?
I believe it did.
But I think Reiki helped me the most.
For the first time, I was able to stay grounded in a hospital.
I didn’t fall apart.
I didn’t become overwhelmed by the memories of my own medical experiences.
I was present.
I was strong.
I was fully there for my son.
And that, to me, is healing too.
I’ve always believed that Reiki can help heal on more than just a physical level. There is something incredibly powerful about healing energy, intention, connection, and simply being able to soften when your body wants to brace itself against the world.
Reconnecting with Reiki has made me feel more like myself again.
And then there is Samuel.

This kid has taught me so much through all of this.
Even with a giant cast on his arm, after getting clearance from his doctor of course, he chose to return to his team.
He’s modifying what he can. He’s participating in conditioning where he’s able. He’s watching practices, learning plays, developing his football IQ, and supporting his teammates.
He didn't give up.
He adapted.
He found another way to participate.
He is so Brave and Resilient.
And watching him has been incredibly inspiring.
He showed me what it looks like to keep showing up for something you love, even when you can’t do it exactly the way you want to.
He reminded me that sometimes the path forward isn’t about doing everything the way you used to.
Sometimes you modify.
Sometimes you slow down.
Sometimes you ask for help.
Sometimes you sit on the sidelines and learn.
And sometimes you simply do whatever you can.

That lesson has hit me deeply because, in so many ways, this is something I’ve been doing my whole life.
When I couldn’t lift heavy weights anymore, I found Pilates and yoga.
When I couldn’t do things on my own, I reached out for help.
When my body changed, I had to learn how to work with it instead of constantly fighting against it.
Maybe that’s the bigger lesson.
We don't always get to choose what happens to us.
But we do get to choose what we do with what happens next.
This incredibly difficult season has taught our family so many valuable lessons.
It reconnected me with Reiki.
It reminded me how resilient my son is.
It reminded me how resilient IÂ am.
And it reminded me that no matter what life throws at us, we keep moving forward.
We pick up the pieces.
We put them back together.
And sometimes, we build something completely new from them.
I’m really excited to see where this next season takes us.
I’m excited for the lessons we haven’t learned yet, the memories we haven’t made, and the ways these experiences will shape us moving forward.
And I’m excited to find my way back to the things I love.
But this time, I want to do them differently.
In ways that actually serve me.
Without burning myself out.
Without overextending myself.
Without believing that I have to do everything, all at once, to be worthy of feeling good.
This is one of the busiest seasons of my life.
So maybe the goal isn’t to keep up with it all.
Maybe the goal is to move through it with intention, softness, and a little bit of magic.
And maybe that is what healing really looks like.
Not going back to who you were.
But becoming someone new—with all the pieces you've gathered along the way. 🌿✨
with Love and Magic
