My First Ever Book Review 🌿📚

Eeeek… my very first book review!

I'm not here to critique books or analyze every little detail. I'm simply here to share the stories I've loved. Some have changed my life, some have gently guided me toward becoming the best version of myself, and others have simply been pure joy to read.

My bookshelves are a little bit of everything. I love thought-provoking nonfiction, heartwarming meet-cutes, spicy romances, whimsical fantasy, magical adventures, and everything in between.

My hope is that by sharing the books I read, I can help you reconnect with the magic of reading. Not only is reading wonderful for our cognitive health, but it's also one of the most mindful things we can do. We get to slow down, step away from the noise of everyday life, and disappear into a world created entirely in our imagination. There is something truly magical about that.

The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently finished The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst, and I absolutely loved getting lost in the whimsical world she created. If you've read any of Sarah's books before, you'll already know how enchanting, comforting, and imaginative her stories are.

Set in the magical forests and mountains of Vermont, the story follows sixteen-year-old Calissa, who travels to visit her Auntie Zee, the keeper of the mysterious Faraway Inn, after experiencing her first heartbreak and wanting to escape life in Boston.

When she arrives, the once-famous inn has fallen into disrepair and is desperately in need of someone to help restore its magic. Alongside the groundskeeper's son, Calissa begins bringing the inn back to life, forming a sweet friendship that slowly blossoms into a charming little crush.

But it doesn't take long before Calissa realizes the inn is hiding extraordinary secrets. The guests seem unlike anyone she's ever met, and behind certain doors lie portals to entirely different worlds.

Add in magical tea and cake, tiny pet dragons, enchanting cats, and a cozy inn tucked away in the mountains, and you have a story that feels like wrapping yourself in your favorite blanket on a rainy afternoon.

This book reminded me of the importance of holding onto childlike wonder. It made me smile, dream, and completely lose track of time. I genuinely looked forward to picking it up every evening, and when I finished the final page, I wasn't quite ready to leave its magical world behind.

If you're looking for a cozy fantasy filled with hope, wonder, and a touch of everyday magic, I wholeheartedly recommend giving The Faraway Inn a read.
